Signs that you've been in Marching Band too Long!!

Green= Special Guard Related Signs

1. When you hear music and you start marking time.

2. When you walk behind someone and you're in step with them.

3. When you try to guess the tempo of your favorite song.

4. When all your friends are in band.

5. When you don't mind changing clothes on a bus.

6. When you point out key changes and dynamics while listening to the radio.

7. When every guy/girl you're interested in is in the band.

8. When you like wearing your uniform.

9. When people ask you about your social life and you say, "Oh, you mean my flag/flute/drum/etc.?"

10. When you consider your drill book a fashion accessory.

11. When you've had a "trombone-ectomy"

12. When you practice your instrument or twirl your flag more than you talk to your dog.

13. When being mauled by a drum is a normal part of life.

14. When people worry when they see you without your instrument or flag.

15. When "armed guard" means a girl with a pole instead of a guy with a gun.

16. When band camp is FUN.

54. When you can discuss the field quality and stand height (or equivalently for Indoor Guard people, the gym size, lighting conditions and stand height) for the majority of the high schools within 4 or so hours.

55. When your fav. restaurants are Subway and Waffle House.

56. When your favorite mode of transportation is yellow and seats 45

57. When the Phoenix Garden waiters and waitresses know you by name and you can say that you have almost sat in every seat in there

58. WHEN YOU STILL HAVE THE FARMERS TAN FROM LAST BAND CAMP!!

59. Or still have the farmer's tan from your Freshman year

60. When you hear a song on the radio and you think "hey that would be a good guard song!"

61. When you are playing pool or baseball and you start doing spins.

62. When your father and brother are on the floor crew and your mother is the sponsor...

63. When you've known your instructors since they were in high school, or if they still teach at their high school (Regular teacher, field show designer, etc)

64. When your Bus gets lost and you can tell him which way to go.

65. When your parents still want to go to your circuit shows even though you are not in it anymore

66. During field hockey practice you start spinning your stick (drop spins and speedspins)

67. When your CD & tape collection is mostly made up of band and guard music.

68. When every non-guard song you hear has show potential and a complete routine in your mind while spinning your umbrella..

69.When you know what LXIX means!

70. When you have unexplained cravings for Subway or Chinese Food.

71. When you can get a good night's sleep on a bus.

72. When you're in a hardware store and you start spinning anything resembling a pole (brooms, mops, dowel rods)

73. When you go out in your back yard and practice for fun...

74. When you start to miss guard/ band...

75. When you're excited for band camp...

76. When you comment about a gyms lighting..."Wow, I love South Brunswick's lighting!!!"

77. When you're listening to the radio and every song you hear can be a good guard song...

78. When you start to figure out the counts, drill, and work....

79. When you walk onto a bus and say "Wow!! this one is bigger!!" or "Wasn't this the same bus we had last time??" or "Hey Joe! (bus driver) wussup?? how's the family??"

80. When you bring pillows and blankets and skip all day behind the flags because you love them.

81. When your closet is packed with uniforms from previous years.

82. When you are afraid of heights and you are up 100 feet in the air and humming one of the songs you marched to to calm yourself down

83. When you sit in class and spin your pen/pencil/ruler or whatever you get your hands on.

84. When you sit at HOME and spin forks/remote controls/ portable phone...

85. When you can relate to more than 2 of the "signs you've been in marching band too long."

86. When you're forced to play softball in PE class and then everyone wants you to spin the bat.

87. When you've seen more rounds of this post on the internet than you care to (or can) remember!

88. When you toss your brush, stuffed animal, remote control, portable phone, etc. and have to keep tossing it until you have caught it the "right" way, and maybe you count the rotations too.

89. When you can do make-up ANYWHERE!!!!

90. When you are used to changing your clothes on the bus while all the band members are there!

91. When you spin a baseball bat during PE just because you feel like it, and then you start teach people how to spin it.

92. Spinning your tennis racket when you should be watching the ball!

93. When you start spinning everything that comes into you hands.

94. When you teach your science teacher to spin a ruler and he can't stop.

95. Whenever you pass a Waffle House you yell "WAFFLE!," and everyone else replies "HOUSE!"; or you clap whenever you pass a Waffle House.

96. When you actually know that there are 16 Waffle Houses on 295& I-64 on the way to VA Beach.

97. You've heard of the Asian Honor council.

98. You find yourself going around school saying "WOW, that sign would look cool in the drum closet!"

99. You live by a point system based on spontaneity.
